  1. What brought you to CrossFit? I realized I was losing muscle mass and getting weaker just with age. My kids were getting bigger and heavier and I wanted to get stronger and more active so that I could keep up with them the next ten years.

  2. What was your first impression? How has that changed? The first class SHOCKED me. We did tabata air squats and I could not go down steps without sitting for three days afterwards. It quickly reaffirmed for me that if hauling my own body weight up and down was causing that much pain…I was in the right place to get stronger. My impression has changed as I have gotten stronger. I lift a little more each time…I go a little faster each time…and that constant level of background soreness just serves as a great reminder that I got out of my desk chair and did something that day.

  3. What are you working on now? Pull ups and better air squat form. I feel like a better squat as a foundation will get me naturally better at a lot of other movements.

  4. What was your greatest achievement? GETTING TO THE TOP OF THAT ROPE!!!

  5. What’s your favorite CrossFit 2311 memory? My favorite memory…so far…was the Memorial Day WOD. I had only been in Crossfit for about 3 months and the WOD was a long and hard one. I hit the hour mark and still had about 3 or 4 minutes to go. I was done. Coach Shannon came and stood firmly in front of me…locked eyes with me…and did every single movement I had left with me. It was a great moment and really revealed to me the true nature of the Crossfit Community. The level of support and encouragement is hard to explain…but great to experience.
