I came to CrossFit at the suggestion of my friend Rebecca Mashburn. I was tired all the time and just had no desire or energy to do anything except work and go home. After several weeks of hearing how much Rebecca loved it, and noticing how her physique was changing, I decided to give CrossFit a try.
My first impression was that I may not be able to do it! At the same time, I was surprised at the friendliness and support of the tribe and the coaches. When I was struggling to finish my pushups during my first WOD, coach Shannon got down on the floor and did them with me. My impression has only gotten better as time goes on.
Right now I am working on form so that I can do the moves properly and not get hurt. My goal is to be fit, lose some more weight, and just to be the best me I can be.
I think my greatest achievement so far has been training consistently for almost 8 months now! That’s something I don’t think I’ve ever done. Finding something you enjoy doing makes all the difference. I have lost 7 inches off my waist and no longer have pain in my knees when I squat. I have to bend and squat at work, so the knee pain was really becoming a problem.
My best memory so far was finishing a paticularly tough WOD that required me to really dig deep not only physically, but emotionally. That was the first time I had trained so hard I thought I might be sick. The feeling afterwards was exhilarating! I was so proud of myself. I have no problem recommending Crossfit 2311 to anyone, I love talking about it!!
