My brother Eric first brought CrossFit to my attention years ago. He showed a huge passion for wanting to open a box in Waynesville. After a few years, he and his wife Shannon made it happen.
My first impression was that CrossFit leaves no stone unturned. Meaning, you truly get an exercise experience that covers your entire body and well as your mind.
Right now I’m working towards getting to more classes more frequently. Like any activity, the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.
My greatest achievement was getting to a point where I was ready to start doing WODs at the RX level. The coaches preach about not moving too fast and staying within your limits. This was critical to gradually building to that level, rather than trying to do too much too soon, potentially causing injury.
My favorite CrossFit memory was watching my teenage daughter compete with grown women at a CrossFit competition, doing well, and having a blast!
