How to Maximize your Fitness without Sacrificing your Time

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Face it…your gym routine is boring.

On a typical day you arrive at the gym and head straight for the locker rooms. You do this even though you’re already in your gym clothes, just to get yourself psyched up for your workout and put your stuff in a locker. Then you immediately regret it when that strange person walking around half naked tries to start up a conversation with you.

You head out onto the workout floor and head straight to the treadmills. If you’re lucky, there will be one free. You run for 20 minutes on the treadmill before heading over to the workout machines.

You spend the next 30 minutes going from machine to machine trying different workouts, not really sure if you are doing them correctly, but hoping you look like you do.

After that, you either head back to the treadmill, or over to a stationary bike (maybe the stairclimber today) for a 10 minute cooldown before leaving for the day.

This is if you make it to the gym. Most days, you are just too busy for all of this, so you’ll just walk around the block when you get home.

Your workout sucks. But you know this. It’s boring and you make excuses not to go.

Would you like a workout that you actually make excuses to go to?

Are you done laughing? Because it really does exist.

Let’s break down the reasons why your workout sucks.

It’s the same every day.

This is the same for most people who go to a typical gym, and even many group classes.

Sure you may have 3 or 4 workout routines that you alternate throughout the week to target different muscle groups, but it is still a routine and every routing gets old.

My favorite part of 2311 Functional Fitness workouts is that they are different every day.

Some gyms post them ahead of time, but a lot wait until the day of to post the workout. So, not only is it different every day, but there is always that element of surprise that keeps things interesting.

I know people who don’t even look at the workout before they come in. That’s a bit too extreme for me. I like to strategize my workouts to some degree.

You don’t know exactly what to do.

Of course you don’t know what to do. You haven’t been trained on what to do. And that one day free session you got with the personal trainer? You were so nervous, you can’t remember a word that was said.

For some reason everyone thinks that they should just know how to workout properly. But unless you’ve been trained, or spent years testing different methods, you just don’t know. And that is okay.

One of the best things about our gym is that you have a trainer there with you every day showing you how to do the movements.

What’s even better? If you can’t do the movement, they will even scale it for you individually.

Every day. Every workout. It’s like having your own personal trainer for every workout, except they aren’t hovering over you uncomfortably or checking their phone constantly making you feel like they are bored with you.

The machines are confusing.

I agree. Machines are confusing. And don’t you sometimes feel like the machine is doing the majority of the work?

Guess what? We don’t have complicated machines. You are the machine. And you will soon discover just how much of a machine you are.

You don’t need to strap yourself into some complicated device to see benefit from a good workout.

Our bodies were made to move from one place to another. To carry loads from one place to another. That is what your workout routine should focus on; using your body as a tool to accomplish tasks while strengthening its capability to accomplish the tasks effectively.

Sure the machines may work great if used properly. However, you have to make sure you have the right muscle group engaged the whole time. Glutes versus hamstrings anyone?

If you aren’t going non-stop for an hour (or more), you feel like you didn’t do enough.

Why? You can accomplish the same (or better) results in half the time. I promise.

It all depends on your intensity and work capacity. When you are in the middle of your hour long workout session, how many times do you check your phone? Can you still hold a conversation?

There is little to no intensity involved.

Yes, our classes are typically an hour long; however, that includes the warm-up, instruction on the workout, the workout itself, and sometimes a cool down.

The actual workout? It is usually 5 to 20 minutes. Yep, I said 5.

It’s the intensity that gets the results.

You won’t be having a conversation in the middle of the workout, and you probably won’t even remember you have a phone. It’s a nice little escape actually.

Intensity is nothing to be scared of. Everyone has their own level that they consider intense. An intense workout for me is different than an intense workout for you. And that is okay. That is why we modify the workouts.

And because we don’t use machines, you can just stop if you need to. Absolutely no one is forcing you to continue. But I promise, when you are trying to beat your best “Grace” time, you won’t want to stop.

The locker room.

Enough said.

Really, who want’s to see some old dude walking around half (or fully) naked?

We don’t have big fancy locker rooms, or movies, or any of that other lavish stuff big gyms use to entice you to sign up.

Why? Because we are focused on you and the workout of the day, everyday.

We do have an awesome community. Don’t worry, we don’t have any forced get togethers or luncheons. We aren’t even really sure what a luncheon is.

You are more than welcome to come in, workout, and leave without conversing with anyone. But there is just something about suffering through an intense workout that tends to bring people together.

After you catch your breath from the workout, you will feel more alive than you ever have. And will want to do it again tomorrow. Again and again.

Still skeptical? That’s okay. Come try a class today. If you still feel like you are getting more out of your regular gym routine, that’s okay. But we suspect you might discover otherwise.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_cta h2=”Want to learn more? ” h4=”We’d love to sit down with you for a FREE No-Sweat Consultation.” txt_align=”center” color=”blue”][/vc_cta][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_btn title=”Schedule It!” color=”sky” align=”center” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fhosted-page-service.sbsp.io%2Fv1%2Furl%2Ff7c66bf2-ba03-414a-8111-348639708b48%2Ffirst_visit_landing_page||”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
