  1. What brought you to CrossFit- I originally started coming to our Box because a friend wanted me to go with them as support.. 🙂 She had never done any sort of lifting before, and I did have some experience with lifting, but wanted to see what all the hype was about. I was doing the same ole, same ole gym routine and wasn’t getting the results I wanted (mainly because I was SOOO unmotivated and I could talk myself out of doing what I needed to at a moments notice)…It was time for a change

  2. What was your first impression? How has that changed? My first impression was a good one, but I was a little unsure as to whether this was going to be what I wanted to get myself into…At that time I didn’t know anyone that did Crossfit for me to talk to and pick their brain… I had visited another box prior to coming to Crossfit 2311, and I had an immediate gut feeling that this was the place for me. I felt immediately at home and the family/team atmosphere is evident as soon as you step through that door!! Now I am 150% positive that joining this family has been one of the BEST things I have ever done for myself!!! I’m so very glad that I listened to my gut! 🙂 I have a second family that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world.

  3. What are you working on now? I am always working on making sure my lifting form/techniques are correct and really want to work more on getting better, more confident, in my overhead squats and snatches…

  4. What was your greatest achievement? I think my greatest achievement was having the chance to compete with an incredible team at the River Ruckus in Asheville last spring! It was one of the most rewarding experiences!! Never in a million years did I ever think I would have been able to participate in something like that!! I had done the obstacle races and such, but nothing like this! Having your team members behind you in all of it, cheering you on, pushing you, is one of the coolest things ever!! I also had the chance to watch and cheer on our other box members compete as well in their teams and watch all the extraordinary feats of strength and grace that came from our box family!!!

  5. What’s your favorite CrossFit 2311 memory? Oh, there are soo many!! Probably my favorite is having the opportunity to compete with our team at the River Ruckus last spring. I think my other favorite memories are the ones when we all hit one of those PR’s that we never thought would happen and having Coach there next to you cheering you on! I had two recently, one hitting a PR for my clean & jerk and the other was for a grueling Paleo Challenge WOD that I knocked out these thrusters (still don’t know where i pulled that out of!!!!) and had Coach Shannon Yarrington right next to me cheering me on and pushing me to finish to the best of my ability!!!
