I had lost the motivation I once had to workout. I wasn’t looking forward to going to the gym like I had before because it felt like I was doing the same exercise routines over and over again. I knew something had to change because I wasn’t getting stronger (because I wasn’t pushing myself) and became inconsistent on how frequently I worked out. I became stagnant and wanted a change. So I decided to try CrossFit.

My first impression of CrossFit 2311 was great! I attended a Saturday WOD (Workout of the Day) with Charles, my friend that had been asking me to come try it for 2 years, and loved everything about it. The environment was great, I loved having people to do the workout with me because it encouraged me to keep going and to push myself. The coaches knew what they were talking about and were eager to help. And I love the competitive side of CrossFit. As soon as the workout starts, the clock starts and everyone hits the ground running. I love it!

My biggest accomplishment thus far is being able to string together muscle ups. Being able to complete a workout that includes muscle ups is a great feeling.

I am currently working on consistency with Chest to Bar pull ups and my form on weightlifting; especially snatches.

My favorite memory of 2311 was when we canceled our Saturday class at our box and a lot of our members went and participated in a Charity WOD for JJ Singleton at CrossFit Haywood. He has been battling cancer and has taken over 21 chemo treatments. All of the proceeds from the WOD went to JJ. I love how the CrossFit community comes together to support and encourage each other in times of need.
